Mr. Samiul Huq’s practice focuses on all major aspects of litigation having gained massive experiences in handling complex legal and commercial disputes. Over the years, he has developed a high level of expertise on banking disputes, company and constitutional matters. Furthermore, he consistently helped his clients in obtaining legal assistance in high-stake public procurement cases and disputes. He has also gained wide range of experience in advising and representing clients before the Courts and tribunal in Customs and VAT matters. Mr. Huq further specializes in properly law and real estate matters and successfully litigated numerous cases before the Courts. He has also been actively involved in disputes relating to recruitment of labour migrants in Gulf Countries and represented GCC Approved Medical Centres’ Association (GAMCA), Dhaka in a number of high-profile litigations. He also famously represented and gave advice to general recruiting agencies against syndicate in manpower business in Malaysia. In recent years, he served his clients in dealing with complex income tax issues such as Advance Income Tax and Minimum Tax. Mr. Huq also developed expertise in advising local and foreign clients in obtaining foreign loan in Bangladesh; one of his notable clients taking such advice was Damen Shipyards, a Dutch company and a major international group doing business in 120 countries. He also takes particular interest in legal issues in supply chain management and has been consistently providing legal support to his clients in this area. Mr. Huq also works for a number of Government organizations, including Roads, Transport and Highway Division and Dhaka WASA.  Mr. Huq founded Credence LP and carries the legacy of his late grandfather Mr. Md. Nurul Huq, who was a legendary civil practitioner of both Pakistan and Bangladesh Supreme Court as well as his father Mr. Justice A.K.M. Shahidul Huq, who is currently sitting as a Hon’ble Justice of High Court Division. Mr. Huq studied law at University of London and later was called to the Bar of England and Wales. Prior to founding Huq’s Law Counsel, he worked as a Senior associate at MMHC & Associates, which is one of the leading law firms in Bangladesh dealing with Customs and VAT matters. Previously, he also worked as an Intern at Lee, Khan and Partners. He also served as a senior lecturer of law in three different institutions under the LL.B. (Hons) course of University of London (International Programme).

Barrister Adnan has substantial experience in advising Large project financing in Bangladesh, especially in the energy sector. He has been transaction counsel in most of the mega power plants in the country undertaken in the last few years. He has practiced in corporate and commercial litigation and arbitration, banking and finance advisory work, companies and securities law, public and administrative law, admiralty, shipping matters and taxation for 13 years. Barrister Adnan practiced as member and later managing counsel of the Dhaka Annex of Temple Court Chambers, London for two years. He began his practice as a pupil and then as an associate of Dr. M. Zahir – an authority on company law in Bangladesh.
He has substantial legislative drafting experience. He drafted the proposed Admiralty Rules of the Supreme Court of Bangladesh. He was also one of the counsels on the privatization of the Bangladesh Telegraph and Telephone Board (BTTB) and drafted the Bangladesh Telecom Company Ltd Ordinance, 2008. He was legal adviser to the Bangladesh Medical and Dental Council, the regulatory body for doctors and dentists in Bangladesh for 9 years and a counsel on the panel of lawyers of Grameen Phone Limited, a Telenor group concern and the largest telecom company in Bangladesh. Recently he drafted the Bangladesh Medical and Dental Council Regulations 2012 for the Council. He was the author of the Exchanges (Demutualization) Bill, 2012 for the Dhaka Stock Exchange. He regularly advises foreign multi-national companies and FDI projects.
Barrister Adnan has published articles on securities law, international trade law (particularly, documentary credits), constitutional law and admiralty law. Outside of his work as a lawyer, he has been chief executive of the Environmental Development Foundation, a non-profit organization dedicated to preservation of the environment.

Mr. Patwary specializes in banking laws, insurance laws, commercial laws and service laws. He is also experienced in matters relating to writ, company, criminal, corporate transactions and commercial disputes. Over the years, he has developed a high level of expertise on banking disputes and has been enlisted with various commercial banks and financial institutions of Bangladesh. Mr. Patwary has experienced in drafting security documents, syndicated finance documents and other legal instruments for banks and financial institution and has represented various commercial banks in a number of cases before the High Court Division and the Loan Recovery Courts. Mr. Patwary has advised some of the leading national and international Textile & Garments Manufacturing entities, Real Estate Companies and Non-Banking Financial Institutions regarding various issues related to commercial transactions and other related legal disputes. Other entities that have received advise from Mr. Patwary on various legal disputes are BADC, BREB, BRDB, BSCIC, BWDB, DESCO, LGRD, WASA and more notably Biman Bangladesh Airlines Ltd and Grameen Bank on issues related to VRS (Voluntary Retirement Scheme). Mr. Patwary has also handled eminent foreign corporate clients.

Mr. Patwary completed his LLB (Hons.) from University of London and was thereafter completed his Post Graduate Diploma (PGDL) in International Commercial Law from Northumbria University. He has been called to the Bar of England and Wales from The Honourable Society of Lincoln’s Inn after successful completion of his Bar Vocational Training Course (BPTC) from City University London. Prior to becoming a partner of Credence LP, Mr. Patwary has worked for a significant period of time with the country’s best corporate and litigation firms. He was associated with prominent law firms in Bangladesh such as Law Valley, Hassan and Associates and Salahuddin and Associates.
